FoodWorks, is a high quality food production company based in Mauritius. Our core business is supplying tasty and high grade convenient meals to people and restaurants around the island of Mauritius. Every meal is cooked using traditional methods, and using high quality products, to ensure that the flavours are not compromised. We also do not add any chemicals or preservatives to our products. Our products are all produced in Mauritius by Mauritians, and we are also Halal certified.
In 2007, FoodWorks was started up by Swiss Chef Kurt Stäheli and his wife Marie-Anne, with the concept of creating a convenience food brand that did not compromise on taste. In the early years, we produced lasagnes and employed only 4 staff. All our products during these years were sold fresh and were available in just 3 supermarkets around the island of Mauritius. Since then, FoodWorks has grown but we’ve always kept true to our core values, creating high quality and tasty convenience food products for people.
Today, FoodWorks has a talented and dedicated team of over 13 people, which is mostly comprised of women. They are capable of producing a large quantity and variety of products which are found in our current range. However, the recipe innovation is still headed by our very own Swiss Chef, Kurt Stäheli. We plan to continue to grow our diverse team over the next few years, and grow our facility to be able to produce a broader range of products that we can even export to other countries around the world.
